Next lecture: Theophanies Part I
This is the next lecture of the Icons and scripture series and traces icons of theophanies through the Old Testament period from God walking in Eden and Noah, through the appearance to Abraham and the Revelation on Sinai, on to the vision of Christ in the Old Testament. The first lecture studies the iconography including the Old Testament prophets and the depiction of various events. How do we indicate the Presence of God before the Incarnation? The second lecture goes more deeply into the techniques and colours used in these icons. Videos of the lectures are made available afterwards to those who have signed up but were not able to attend one or both lectures.
